Cape Ann’s WhiskeyTalk is fronted by 2 songwriters coming most recently from punk and bluegrass bands who bring precision, energy, and originality to the stage. Anchored by a rhythm section steeped in Uppercase Rock, the good times don’t stop rolling. Our unique backgrounds gives us the opportunity to push each other into and out of our own comfortable genres and come up with a sound that's unique but still deferential to its roots. We each bring our own musical baggage along on a somewhat meandering and genre-bending cross country drive that picks up fiddle tune snippets and G runs, chicken pickin’ and blues licks, arena rock leads and power chords, seasoned with plenty of salt from our own Gloucester Harbor, We are an acoustic guitar based band at our core but grab an SG or mandolin when our fingers get itchy. We place harmony and groove very far forward but there is a healthy dose of instrumental flash when we hit the gas. People dance and people listen. And we love every minute of it.
